The Living Maya – Ancient Wisdom In The Era of 2012

As we approach the year 2012 and the end of the current 13^th Bak'tun of the Maya Long Count Calendar system (now made globally infamous) there is certainly no shortage of books on these subjects. Many of the related books I have already read, some I have even reviewed, and still others I keep meaning to fit into my busy schedule and ever growing reading list.

Though there are now perhaps hundreds of books with the year 2012 in the title, or mentioning the Maya Calendar, it is fair to say that the actual content and direction of these is extremely varied. Some writers are simply trying to boost sales of books by incorporating the popular year 2012 but with little actual reference to the core 2012 meme material. Some authors write wholly on the topic of 2012 but make little comprehensible addition to that already widely publicised, giving only seemingly baseless (made up) doomsday theories. As they say, 'it takes all sorts'.

One of the books that certainly stands out from the 2012 crowd is Robert Sitler's highly personal take on the Maya people and their modern culture, ancient wisdom and sacred calendar. Any serious 2012 researcher will have likely already encountered essays and comments online given by this well grounded Stetson University lecturer. Though not exactly a Maya Anthropologist or Mayanist he has spent a huge amount of time in various parts of the Maya world and combines this direct experience with his professional background when presenting opinions. This book is not presented as some kind of dry professional analysis of the Maya suited to academics, it is a highly accessible personal journey offering all comers something to enjoy. It does however come across as being written by a man of substantial intellect and familiarity with how to present difficult subject matter to eager students!

Despite my substantial interest in both the general subject of the 2012 meme and in the niche of the Maya Calendar, it is fair to say I do not know very much about the modern Maya peoples. Not being unkind, but my interest in them is not much greater than it is in numerous other indigenous peoples around the planet. My reason for saying this is that I make it clear that I am studying a large subject which incorporates evidence from myriad sources when I write on 2012 unlike numerous other researchers whom do indeed claim to wholly base their writings on substantial study of the Maya people and their calendar system. Obviously I do incorporate material from the ancient and modern Maya at times. That is to say I am interested in the Maya people but have not prioritised studying them specifically, perhaps to my shame?

Well thanks to Robert Sitler my life has been made much more easy. Rather than reading my many rather wordy and cumbersome books on the Maya (I have several on my shelf) I was finally able to get a summarised direct take on what it is to be a Maya person in the modern world. We are informed of the way in which adults and children are respected, the sense of spiritual connection to land and sky, ritual practices, supernormal visions, the current state of social degradation due to incursions, the role of shamans and midwives and so very much more. The information is all presented in an easy to follow format, well laid out, meaningful chapter headings that make sense of the material and a logical sequential progression. The style is warm, friendly and at times humorous, though he is very sensitive to the pain the Maya people have suffered and at times the subject matter makes emotional reading. There is time taken to explore the ongoing environmental destruction, racism, prejudice, cultural interference and myriad demanding issues faced by modern Maya people. For anyone new to the subject there is much eye opening discourse contained.

Robert takes us on a journey that began when he first visited the Maya people and ate a copious amount of magic mushrooms. In this altered state he befriended a number of (not high on mushrooms) Maya people who were in the same state of elevated consciousness as he himself was. This oddity stuck with him for years to come and was in many ways a driving force in his interest in the people. The more he quested to understand the Mayan mind, the more he came to learn about their cosmology, social structure, sense of community, robust psychological profiles and sense of temporal continuum. By learning some of the languages of the region and spending significant time with Maya friends he was able to get beneath the surface of what it is to be a Maya in the modern world, in a much more compelling way than we will find in any academic essay. The wealth of direct personal experiences and retold first hand accounts of Maya wisdom, really do transport us into the realm of 'the Living Maya' and share with us some of their 'ancient wisdom in the era of 2012'. This is very much a mixture of travel story, personal adventure, spiritual discourse and idiots guide to Mayan anthropology. The book is an easy and enjoyable read that can't fail to inform and inspire its readers.

I especially like his extrapolation of the Mayan Calendars permutations and the meanings of the Tzolkin day glyphs, in fact I now use this section of the book specifically for these in relation to readings done with my Mayan Tzolkin Tarot card set!

I do want to make the point once again that this is not an academic book, despite critical reviews on Amazon which treated it as such due to Robert Sitler being an academic, think more on the lines of Jeremy Narby's 'Cosmic Serpent' or Patrice Malidoma Some's 'Of Water and the Spirit', if you liked either of those then you will love this too. I offer my heartfelt thanks to Robert for doing some considerable effort to bring the actual Maya people into the 2012 subject as it exists in the modern world, its about time that somebody did just that.

21-12-2012 The Final Countdown

So it is finally here, 2012 has rolled in upon us, I can scarcely believe that my decade of monitoring the build up to it is now over. I just wanted to take this moment to wish all of the sites many visitors a very happy new year, whatever your views about what the year ahead will likely bring. I would also like to thank the many nice folks that have subscribed to new updates, left me comments on articles, shared my work online or just taken time to read my work. During the next year there will be some extremely candid and revealing articles to come, revealing far more of my own direct experiences with supernatural and spiritual phenomena, and how these types of happenings relate to the possibilities for the year ahead, and of course beyond this year into 2013.

Today happens to be my 35^th birthday as well as just off the 3^rd birthday of this website. Over the last three years what started as my personal blog for rambling about 2012 and metaphysical matters or conspiracy topics, has gradually morphed into one of the most visited 2012 websites on the planet. This site has incredibly clocked up over 850,000 page views, all thanks to you!

Well now that 2012 has arrived it marks a slight shift in the direction of my work. A great deal has changed for me personally during the last three years, some of which is apparent from the articles themselves, other matters have been kept private. From here on I will be adding a greater emphasis on preparation for 'whatever' is coming. No matter what you feel 21-12-2012 represents there are numerous things you should be doing which will be helpful no matter what does or does not come down the pipe at us. In my view it is now most important that we are doing as many of these activities and undertakings as possible. Some of my focus will also be going into rebuilding the sister website www.earth4all.net and using that as a more general e-zine for fringe subjects. Expect also to see my book available to purchase around March 2012 and for those interested I will also be offering a range of personal development services stemming from my own, and some of my good friends, spiritual self development practices and the like.

One of the most exciting developments this year has been re-encountering a very special member of my soul group, my twin flame, Daniella Cardenas Gerard. Six years from our first encounter via our work as online psychic readers and an immediate intense friendship, and after three years of lost contact due to personal situations, we are reunited and working together for the good of our human family. The White Brotherhood, Thai Black Magic & Winter Solstice Cleansing Ritual | One Year to 21-12-2012

Well we have passed through the precursor Winter Solstice before that of the one marking an ending date for the Maya long count calendar 13^th Bak'tun and very soon we will be in the start of that now notorious year, 2012. What of 2011 and the energies we are moving out of then?

It was always my suspicion that 2011 would be a year of massive breakdown, followed by 2012 as a year of huge collective decisions and then leading to a full manifestation of our choice during 2013 (for better or for worse). From my own viewpoint I was certainly correct about the essence of 2011 as all about me I have seen friends, family and acquaintances being dragged kicking and screaming to face their shadow selves via such process as relationship breakdowns, job loss, repossession, bankruptcy, illness and deaths. There is no smug smile on my lips however as the universe did not spare me from the required process.

2011 has seen me reduced to being totally financially ruined, my business gone through fraudulent betrayal, my marriage broken by dishonesty, and my house lost to financial ruin. I find myself back with my kind parents home with but a five hundred pounds to my name and no income. And what a process it has been, this is the happy bit, trust me. For most of this year I experienced incredible stress, turmoil and pressure on scales that I have no doubt would drive weaker minds to suicide. Every day but a slice of pain suffered between the blissful escape of sleeps loving arms. Yes some days I managed to get the energy levels up a bit and weathered the storm, and generally I was aware that all things that happen are our karma, but I would be lying if I said that I had not also wallowed in the depths of despair and suffering upon the greater balance of my waking moments. The one thing that kept me sane was the inner sense that I always knew this process would come to me in 2011, I just never knew exactly what form it would take, we all have to be forged in the sacred fire to be fit for the final warriors stand in the name of the light.

I weathered my storm, held my ground as best I could and excepted the flags of truce when waived allowing me to exit the field and patch my wounds. For months I was hiding away at a friends house out in the woods away from everything and everyone, healing and dealing with the necessary administration to tidy up all of my affairs. I could say much of it but perhaps it is best to skip to the most important details.

In my exit from the pressure cooker than my life had become, I at last again was able to hear the feeble whisper of my inner guide. I was led to a serious participation in a study program that better expanded my existing knowledge of the workings of the Law Of Attraction. Along with a friend I put effort into getting myself back in control of manifesting my destiny and monitoring any negative reactions I was having to external events. With effort I was able to escape the mental prison of 'problems' that I had allowed myself to fall into. At last I was again the captain of my ship. With my will and intuition I was able to target a very specific set of aims and begin to pull them towards me. Amazingly within a short period this set of aims had all but completely manifested (there is a necessary element currently being resolved) meaning that I would soon be leaving the UK for a new life abroad, a new business and new relating. An old saying goes, 'every man and woman that ever walked through the darkest part of the night makes it to see the sunrise'.

With all of that summary said, let me now then take my readers up to the present moment. This Winter Solstice I have had quite a notable experience and one that may be of some interest, if nothing else it gives a flavour of the odd life I live. For whilst some folks maybe spent Winter Solstice watching reality shows, I actually spent it having a sacred healing ritual to combat a nasty curse put on me by a Thai sorcerer.

Marital breakdowns are never a nice process, but when your partner's friends and family are inclined towards Thai black magic things can get much heavier. In my case a few weeks ago I suddenly felt an energetic attack unleashed on me which took me in moments from pretty happy to almost suicidal depression, I was lucky that I had at this point already taken up daily meditation and Chi-Gong as part of my self healing process. My vibration repelled the attack, likely with help from my invisible comrades in spirit. About half an hour later I saw in my minds eye a Thai sorcerer performing a ritual. OK, so one has to be sure of such things and not leap to conclusions. So I quickly consulted a friend with the ability to examine such things and they confirmed details of a blood curse sent upon me, involving the beheading of a snake so that its essence might be bound and sent against me to cause illness, poverty, isolation and a weakness of spirit to allow others ability to direct my thoughts and actions. Nice huh?

Well for several weeks I just countered this malign intent, despite being pursued and harassed. Paranormal activity built up around me, hands pushing me from my behind as I entered the astral, and a screaming lady spirit in the corner of my room, also a notable increase in nightmares and moments of negativity. It was with some effort that I maintained my generally positive disposition. Eventually I gave a warning through a friend that by the 21^st of December that if the magical attacks were not ceased then I would be sending everything back to those attacking me (not doing any black magic myself obviously).

So it was then that for the last two nights in a row I have participated with a friend in her healing ritual with sacred blended oils, heartfelt prayer and encouraging divine energies. This undertaking being intended both to address the curse and some other health issues I have been suffering, possibly related to it. Each morning we began with Kundalini Yoga, Chi-Gong and visualisation meditations, repeated again in the afternoon, followed by the ritual itself. This cleansing involves the mixing of a sacred oil from olives, grapes and sea salt which is then wiped on specific places of the body as the prayers are given and the energies directed. It is a fairly lengthy process, but the energy is really amazing to experience and I had no doubt I was experiencing some very high consciousness vibrations. It is difficult to gauge exactly the efficacy of energy work at times, yes we know it can be extremely effective, but it can also be just moderately effective. It helps to get a significant intuitive confirmation.

Last night I dreamt a very interesting dream. There was a mountain reaching 5000 metres into the sky. I overheard a news reader discussing the fact that so many people whom tried to get to the actual summit would be stopped by the authorities. The next thing of course I was at the summit myself where there was a temple like building. In the entrance lobby room there was a small line of people waiting to examine an object on a table, I was told that this was a puzzle that enticed many challengers from around the world. The men were all seemingly Arabic in appearance and accent. When I came to hold the object I saw that it was a green stone tablet with script in five languages, none immediately recognisable to me, and I was told these were ancient languages. It was further clarified that one must decipher all five to solver the puzzle.

In a second area of this open plan temple structure, just down a few marble steps, there was quite a number of men gathered. Though for some reason in my dream it was suggested they were Jews, they were all rather Nordic in appearance, as best as I can recall all were fair skinned with blonde hair, each attired in white linen robes. Some of the men held musical instruments. It was then made apparent that they too were studying the puzzle, but that amongst there number there were those that knew some of the scripts on the stone, and as such they were making great progress towards a final solution to the puzzle.

Upon awaking today I explored the meanings of the dream, and confirmed the obvious that it was very spiritual in nature and was talking to my spiritual journey, progress and obstacles. When I shared it with my friend, the healer, she was very excited as she recognised the group in the robes as being members of the 'White Brotherhood', a collective of spiritual masters. Suffice to say that it is a very good sign when these masters show up in your dream the very night of a healing ritual calling upon master energies to assist you. It is also not the first time I have heard of a mysterious green tablet with an unknown ancient script, there being of course one such object of great interest to me, the legendary Emerald Tablet of Thoth.

So all in all I feel that 2011 has been a year of purging, pain and preparation. Now I feel ready to move forward with renewed vigour and confidence. Ready to embrace my role as one of many 'lightworkers' here to assist in raising the vibrations of humans on this planet prior to the great shift of 21-12-2012. I look forwards tow working with the wonderful souls reading this, and many more that are yet to enter my life during the next 12 months. I am expecting enormous Earth changes, terrible actions of the elite and crumbling societal structures, but also great acts of courage and compassion.

The World Tree 2012 - 2013

As we approach the infamous date 21-12-2012 more and more members of the global community are seeking information on the topic of a possible impending major event. One of the greatest concerns that has circulated the planet during the last few years is that collective ancient data sources indicate a possible catastrophe on the horizon. The problem is that many of the grim predictions are not actually researched, but are rather just fear porn speculation. That does not mean there is no genuine cause for concern however.

In the latest book by the U.S. based Maya Calendar scholars Dr. William Gasper & Dr. Jose Jaramillo, we are taken on a wild ride through a mass of data that tends to support the case for a warning from ancient history regarding a cyclical period of disasters that troubles are planet. It is fair to say that they have gone to great lengths to gather a wealth of relevant information that supports the central thesis, that being a real reason for our world to seriously consider preparation for a global disaster of some kind.

The central domains of study are astronomy, astrology and cosmology. The researchers dig down into the cosmic wisdom records of such cultures as the Egyptians, Scandinavians, Mayans, Hungarians (Magyar), Lakota, Hebrew, Romans and others. By means of this wide net of investigation they were able to locate interesting overlaps in belief and even in actually terminology. As with them I must say that I do find it of note when words in disparate cultures seem to have links by means of cosmic phenomena they describe. These researchers have gone to great lengths that I have not previously seen by others, literally searching in dozens of cultures languages to seek data. I think that any reader will appreciate the thorough efforts in that direction, no matter what they make of the conclusions.

It is probably in respect to astronomy and astrology that the two researchers give the most convincing case for a message being passed down the ages to modern mankind. Not only do they present a convincing case for their suspicions, but also they go to great lengths to present pictorial representations of their theories to better clarify for readers. Again in this area of the subject they have looked at multiple cultures far and wide, as well as within religious texts, especially those of the bible. There is some interesting de-codification work to show us how texts from the bible and even glyphs from ancient Egypt have actually been hiding information about events in the sky. In many areas they find the world tree presented again and again, clearly being a very important idea for the people of the ancient world this along with the idea of pillars of the sky, to which they reasonably attribute the magnetic and directional poles of the Earth.

There is so much astronomical information packed into this books extrapolation that I literally can't think of any fair way to summarise it without being unfair to the actual amount of work they have quite obviously done. There is so much material jam packed into this part of the book that I can fairly say it is a useful reference book for anyone with an interest in how the ancients viewed the heavens and what important lessons we can learn from their understanding of the sky. This book could save the reader many hours of independent research should they be needing to find such data for a study of their own. There is a lot of data to consider but it is well worth the time to study it seriously with an open and enquiring mind.

For me the most enjoyable part of the book come in its final four chapters. This is where we are taken into a deep look at the legendary Mayan leader named Lord Kinich Janaab Pakal II, crowned 11^th king of Palenque in 615AD. I found it fascinating to learn about this historic figures obsession with keeping important records of his future descendants even those of a time well distant. Through his life he utilised both stone and gold in his quest to preserve the records of wisdom that had come into his hands from even wiser masters that preceded him, including the importance of the half degree precession period of 36 years and a final 12 years of heroes journey, both of which become important in respect to 2012. This great visionary, Janaab Pakal, was able to perform a wide range of incredible feats including predicting his own time of death, as well as laying down numerous prophecy for the distant years to come.

Both the tomb and the notorious Lid of Pakal are analysed in some depth. Most readers here will best know the lid of Pakal's sarcophagus from ancient alien theories of Eric Von Daniken, suffice to say this book does not go down that path. The number 144 and also 144,000 show up in very interesting ways and call to mind both the Maya use of these in cycle lengths and other systems such as biblical prophecy also using these numbers. Of course the mathematical content is much beyond just this but is again to lengthy for me to easily summarise, it is however well worth reading.

This is not a book about the end of the world, but it is a book warning us that or civilisation may well be teetering on a precipice, that we may well be able to prepare for a inbound major event if only we listen to the message from our ancient forbears. Although I don't necessarily agree with every point made, or follow every connection posited, I do agree that we must take the message from our forbears as well worth analysis. Why did ancient cultures from all around the planet go to such lengths to encode messages for distant times in the future. How can it be coincidence that just as the prophecies come to their time we see very real corresponding events happening on our planet. This book is not always an easy read as it is quite technical, but if you are serious about gaining knowledge on the astronomic side of 2012 prophecy then you will certainly want to add this one to your library. Save yourself hundreds of hours of research and use this as a reference manual on 2012 related astronomy lore.

New Age Channelling Cult Closes Great Pyramid 11/11/11

On the 8^th of November I travelled out to Cairo for an 11 day spiritual pilgrimage. The idea was to centralise my journey upon the meditation events planned for the Giza plateau on 11-11-11.

There were literally dozens of international organised spiritual tour groups set to be at the site of the great pyramid, and hundreds more solitary travellers such as myself would be there to join in as they felt appropriate. The common thread between such disparate attendees would be the uniting collective desire to meditate for global peace at this powerful ancient Earth grid,energy portal site. The wider world would of course be watching on with reserved interest to see whether such activity was going to have some kind of measurable effect. Though 11-11-11 meditation events were set to occur globally this was the one set to get most attention, and thus be most important. In this respect it is fair to say nobody got it wrong, certainly it was this location that gained most media attention on that date...just not for the reasons any of us hoped.

 

Most spiritual pilgrims to the great pyramid for 11-11-11 had in mind just a simple meditation, some others on tours had paid (a lot) for the privilege of some private time meditating in the Kings Chamber. One group though had gone way, way beyond any of these simple ideas of unity and collective silence. The incredible claims and ceremonial arrangements of this group would eventually lead to the closure of the plateau to all meditation and obvious spirituality related activity. For all intents and purposes their perhaps grandiose, and to me slightly bizarre, plan would transpire in the end to ruin 11-11-11 for hundreds of people visiting this special place.

 

Dar Swiatowida channelling group from Poland had made arrangements for a complex esoteric ritual to be held in the Kings chamber atop the great pyramid at 11am, with an evening ceremony to follow up at 11pm. The groups leader Andrzej Wojcikiewicz had made certain arrangements, no doubt some very costly, to be allowed to carry out an extremely convoluted magic rite in this ancient power spot. It is fair to say that I am avoiding voicing my personal thoughts here out of both journalistic professionalism and a respect for some of the group members that I met staying in my hotel. I would however suggest reading the claims and intentions directly from the organisations website with all channelled plans given back in July of this year, it makes for eye opening reading indeed.

 

The brief version of the plans, for those not wishing to read through the entire channelled instructions to Andrzej and his group, can be summarised as follows. An entity known as Samuel, or sometimes as Enki, gave instructions through the purported medium Anna Dolinska on how to carry out a ceremony at the great pyramid which would supposedly cause an energetic defence grid to protect the earth from such things as the legendary 'planet-x', solar flares and pole reversals, all being predicted for late 2012. The ritual would require four special people, described as human angels, to place into the coffer of the kings chamber an Indian crystal Merkaba attached to two engraved gold bars. As this ritual was being carried out several higher beings, including Jesus, Mary, Isis, Anubis and a host of others, would surround them. Beyond the chamber other group members would be sending energy with a specific instructed intention of activation. Outside, there was to be a circle of people holding hands around the base of the enormous pyramid. Where a small spiritual cult would get the numbers required for such a circle is not at all clear and one has to assume independent travellers like myself were going to be encouraged to make up the numbers, or perhaps some bribed locals that being much more realistic and plausible. One thing is for sure, the news on some websites suggesting thousands of Israelis had been invited to do this must have come straight from a paranoid Islamic fantasy. I met zero Israelis whilst in Egypt.

 

Upon completion of the ritual, energy would then shoot up from all of the pyramids of the Giza plateau firing off to Orion and elsewhere whilst also activating the supposed Earth defence grid. Sand would then shift to reveal hidden tunnels and chambers. Total zaniness was to ensue in all its many forms!

 

The first surprising thing is that this ceremony even got the go ahead to happen in the first place, but the second is how naïve the organisers were when it came to their choice of engraving for the gold bars being used in the ceremony. Right there, in the middle of an Islamic nation, at its most famous site, they were to place a magic object covered in Polish and Hebrew writing. The least surprising thing was the global backlash that ensued once this part of the ceremony become known more widely. From higher level sources (the rumour-mill) I was informed that there was now accusations of this being a suspected Zionist conspiracy being perpetrated by a powerful figure in the USA whom represented a group wanting to claim building of the pyramids for the Jewish people. This paranoia stems from an ongoing claim by some Zionist folks that Jewish slaves built the pyramids under Egyptian coercion. The fundamental cause of the misunderstanding was due to the similarity a Merkaba crystal has to the Star of David, well that and the Hebrew writing which stated, 'Man Cannot Live By Bread Alone'.Later the more politically sensitive accusation of this all being headed up by 'Zionists' would be replaced by the more acceptable accusation of it being instead orchestrated by 'Masons'. I hasten to add that either of those group would find the actual described ritual totally alien to them, and would likely have been much more able to ensure their planned events went ahead.

 

Finally the inevitable happened and the ritual was axed by agreement of a number of high level figures from academic and government arenas. No doubt by means of a number of rapidly flying panicked e-mails with the word ZIONIST as a header!

 

The problem was that now a significant back lash had been building which some Egyptian political elements sought to capitalise on. In a great show of 'defending Egyptian interests' not only was the the ritual stopped, but every single spiritual tour group was banned from the Pyramids, and in the end all three pyramids were shut down for 'maintenance'. This was still not enough for the now frothing Egyptian elite, and to collective horror we watched bus loads of soldiers and police begin to pull into the entrance to the plateau on the evening of the 10^th all from the unique vantage-point of the roof of the legendary Sphinx Guesthouse.

In the morning there was even a tank sitting right by the pyramid ticket office opposite us along with a Jeep full of military police. Further rumours coming in were that the Islamic brotherhood were going to have a mass prayer event to reclaim the pyramids for Egypt, this had led to lots of very conspicuous secret police in dark suits arriving to 'blend in' with site visitors.

 

So much for peaceful, positive, global meditation centred at the great pyramid. In the end the whole thing became untenable. Just to enter the site one had to pass through dozens of heavily armed soldiers and police (and the tank). One friend from my hotel told of how he had made the mistake of simply sitting down somewhere near the great pyramid and was immediately harassed by secret police telling him that he must stay on his feet, clearly worried he might start some dangerous Zionist meditation practice at any moment!

The really amazing thing of it all was the total display of polarity on show, a microcosm of our world today. High ideals, strange beliefs, good intentions, ancient mysteries all collided with unstable political regimes, militarism, abject paranoia and repression. They even brought a tank to monitor a meditation event...

For my part I actually had a fantastic day, enjoyed the madness of all the events and spent 11am Cairo time holding hands in silent meditation with two good friends and a security guard amongst the ancient burial tombs a little away from the main pyramids, and then at 11am GMT I was down in a tomb that has 11 ancient figures engraved into the walls. Perfect, just perfect.
